Activities in Saariselkä!

Saariselkä is the northernmost ski resort in the EU and one of the most exotic destinations in Lapland. Located in the municipality of Inari, right at the gateway to Urho Kekkonen National Park, it offers a unique combination of arctic nature, silence and Northern Lights.

As a ski resort, Saariselkä is small — 15 slopes and 6 lifts — but the atmosphere and location more than compensate for size. The area is particularly popular among Northern Lights hunters, as light pollution is minimal and the northern location ensures excellent visibility conditions from September to March.

The surroundings of Saariselkä are wilderness at its finest. In Urho Kekkonen National Park you can hike, ski and experience arctic nature in complete peace. The area also has gold panning history — Tankavaara Gold Village tells the story of Lapland's gold rush.
