Activities in Ylläs!

Ylläs is Finland's largest ski resort by number of slopes. Its 63 runs and Finland's longest slope (3 kilometers) make it a favorite among skiers. The resort is split between two villages — Äkäslompolo and Ylläsjärvi — connected by a gondola lift over the fell.

Ylläs is known for its peaceful and nature-oriented atmosphere. Unlike the bustling village of Levi, Ylläs emphasizes tranquility, pristine scenery and arctic nature. For cross-country skiers, Ylläs offers Finland's most extensive trail network — over 330 kilometers of groomed trails through fell landscapes.

The Ylläs area offers authentic Lapland culture: reindeer farms, craft workshops and traditional smoke saunas. Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park begins right at the edge of the resort, and from here you can hike the Hetta–Pallas trail, one of Finland's most popular hiking routes. The nearest airport is in Kittilä, about 40 kilometers away.
